Message from the Program Director
An experience second to none! Whether you are from the west coast, the Florida Keys or just around the corner at our sponsoring institution, Campbell University SOM, we think you will share our sentiment. Our residency offers a host of clinical experiences and procedural skills to prepare our residents to take on the challenges of 21st century medicine in an ever-changing and evolving environment. The disease processes you will care for rival those at major academic centers leaving our residents enriched and confident that they are prepared to proceed to the next level in their career. Daily didactics include lectures by experienced veterans in the field, case presentations, book club, journal club, and M&M conference complemented by ongoing Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. Lumberton welcomes you, come on by.

Message from Dr. Onime
After training and practicing in some of the best programs in the country, including New York University and Columbia University Medical Centers, I arrived at Southeastern Health in Lumberton, NC, a smaller setting that seemed to be in the middle of nowhere, but where I felt my contributions could make a lot of difference. Fourteen years later, I’m still here and I have no regrets! Southeastern Health has proven to be rich in pathology that I had not seen even in the heart of New York City. The specialty/subspecialty support is outstanding and the hospital administration is first rate. The people and community are among the friendliest I’ve ever encountered, and the culture is eclectic. I still learn something new every day practicing here and working with our outstanding residents and bright students. More so, every one of our teaching attending physicians do so because they choose and truly love to, and that can make all the difference in a residency program. So, have an open mind, come check us out. Like me, you just might start singing, “Home, sweet home.”
After working at Southeastern Health for 9 years, Amanda assumed the role of Program Coordinator in 2016. Her office is located in the Medical Education Hallway. She has a passion for the Residency Program. She arrives early in the morning and stays late into the evening.
